University of Northampton: Return to Training Post-Lockdown!
Throughout lockdown, as a team we looked heavily into how the time spent at home was impacting our teams mental and physical health. After a couple of discussions we realised that the main problems coming back to us were boredom and a lack of routine, because of this we made our daily focuses, each asking our team mates to focus on or do something specific everyday within the chosen categories. This worked very well and helped with bonding within the team as well as keeping everyone entertained.
The team will be returning to our weekly training routine of Tuesday’s and Friday’s at the university campus. We have been keeping up with each other with plenty of engagement on our social medias, however nothing beats that hour and half of lacrosse twice a week! Returning faces and new ones are welcome and we are beyond excited to get back into the swing of things, with a friendly planned for late May, we are looking to get our heads down and our sticks up!
The move for Movember challenge is also something close to Northampton Lacrosse’s heart, so we took on the challenge to walk, run or cycle 60km for the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour across the world. Our team showed their dedication to this by moving a total of 729.41KM and raising an amazing £455 for the Movember charity!
