University of Northampton Lacrosse Award Nomination

Our university holds sports awards every year, with seven categories for the possible awards. We were delighted to have been shortlisted for ‘Most Improved Club of the Year’. This is a huge achievement just to be nominated and we as a club are extremely proud of our progress over the last year. Despite Covid stopping us from completing our training and not having a union day, we have more than doubled our team numbers and organised plenty of lockdown activities which kept people engaged and gave us a chance as a team to bond. To be shortlisted for this award is an honour and having our progress recognised was wonderful!

In December, we also held our annual Lacrosse team awards. This was an excellent way to keep moral high along with engagement and is a lovely opportunity to appreciate those players who go above and beyond. Some of the categories included best fresher, most dedicated, team comedian, player’s player, and many more. The categories and nominations were sent out and every player had the opportunity to vote, before we then held an awards ceremony to hand out all certificates and trophies.
